Anonymity and privacy
Feedback 360 answers are not anonymous. Learn exactly who can read which answers, when they become visible, and how the reviewee's access is controlled.
This page explains who can read Feedback 360 answers and when. Read it before launching a campaign, so you can tell reviewers clearly how their feedback will be used.
Answers are not anonymous
Feedback 360 has no anonymous mode and no anonymity threshold (such as "show results only if at least 3 reviewers answered"). Every answer is stored and shown with the name and photo of the reviewer who wrote it, to everyone allowed to read it. The emails sent when someone submits also name the reviewer ("[Name] has given their feedback").
What the campaign creator controls is whether the reviewee can read the answers, with the option Participants can view reviewers answers (step 2 of the wizard). It can't be changed after launch.
Tip: Tell reviewers in the questionnaire description (or in a Paragraph block of the template) who will read their answers. It avoids misunderstandings.
Who can read what
| Person | Answers about a reviewee they can read |
|---|---|
| The reviewer | Only their own review, drafts included. |
| Other reviewers of the same reviewee | Nothing: reviewers never see each other's answers. |
| The reviewee, option Participants can view reviewers answers on | All submitted answers, with reviewers' names, plus their own self-review. |
| The reviewee, option off | Only their own self-review, if any. Otherwise the page says These reviews are not accessible to you. |
| The reviewee's person in charge | All submitted answers. |
| The reviewee's managers (direct manager and above in the reporting line) | All submitted answers. |
| The campaign owner and co-pilots with the manager creator role or above | All submitted answers of the campaign. |
| Admins and super admins | All submitted answers of the company. |
| Scoped admins | All submitted answers about people in their population. |
| Anyone else | Nothing. |
The same rules apply to the PDF downloads and to the AI synthesis: only people who can read all the answers can download the compiled PDF or open the synthesis.
When answers become visible
- A reviewer's answers are visible to others only after they click Submit. Drafts stay private to the reviewer, including in PDFs, exports and the AI synthesis.
- Each submitted review appears immediately; there is no wait until the deadline or until all reviewers have answered.
- A submitted review that is reopened by a campaign manager or an admin goes back to draft: it is again visible only to its author until it is submitted again.
What the reviewee learns about their reviewers
Whether or not they can read the answers, a reviewee can see who their reviewers are on their dashboard card and feedback page (names, avatars and statuses). If they can read the answers, they are also emailed each time a reviewer submits, with the reviewer's name.
AI synthesis
When an AI synthesis is generated (for one reviewee or for a whole campaign), reviewers' answers are sent to the AI without the reviewers' names. Only the self-review is identified as the reviewee's own, so the AI can compare it with the others. The synthesis is shown only to people who can read all the answers.
Exports
The Answers Excel export of a campaign lists every submitted answer with the reviewer's and the reviewee's names. Only people who can open the campaign page (owner, co-pilots, admins) can export it. Handle the file according to your company's data policy (see Data and privacy).
Deletion
- Removing a reviewer deletes their review (only possible before they submit).
- Removing a participant from a campaign deletes every review about them, including submitted ones.
- Permanently deleting a campaign deletes all its reviews and answers.
Common questions
Can I promise reviewers their feedback is anonymous?
No. Their name is always attached to their answers for the person in charge, the reviewee's managers, the campaign managers and admins, and for the reviewee if the campaign allows it.
A reviewer wants to withdraw their feedback after submitting.
Ask a campaign manager or an admin to Reopen the review; the reviewer can then change their answers. A submitted review can't be deleted on its own; removing the reviewer is only possible before submission.
Can a manager read the feedback of someone outside their team?
Only if they are that person's person in charge, a campaign manager, or an admin. Otherwise, no.
Does the reviewee see who has not answered yet?
Yes, the status of each reviewer (not started, in progress, submitted) is visible on their card and in the reviewer list.
