Create a training
Build a Learn training with sections and modules, import playlists, set an estimated cost, add co-pilots, then publish it and launch its first session.
A training is a structured learning path: an ordered list of sections, each containing modules. Unlike playlists, trainings are not in the catalog: you assign them to people through training sessions, which gives you deadlines, progress tracking, reminders and certificates.
Before you start
Publish the modules you want to use first: only published modules can be added to a training (you can also create new modules from the training).
Create the training
- Go to Learn › Trainings and click New training, or go to Learn › My content › Create, select Training and click Continue.
- The training editor opens full screen, with the placeholder title "Training Title", a default cover image and a first empty section, Section 1.
Everything is saved automatically (Saving..., then Saved in the top bar). Until you publish, the training is a draft that learners can't see.
Title, description and cover
In Training title and description:
- Replace the default cover image on the left (max 10 MB; you can reposition it).
- Training title (required).
- Description: shown to learners in the Training introduction.
Estimated cost
"Estimate your training cost in order to better manage your training plans. All fields below are optional."
- Cost type: Flat cost (one amount for the whole session, the default) or Per participant (multiplied by the number of participants).
- Estimated cost in euros.
The management page then shows it as, for example, "Estimated cost: €200.00 (Flat cost)".
This estimate pre-fills the cost of each new session of the training, which you can override at launch (see Session costs, expenses and documents).
Build the content
The Training content block shows the number of Section(s) and Module(s), the total duration, Collapse all / Expand all, and an icon button Import playlist. Click a section header to expand or collapse it.
Sections
- New section adds a section at the end. Give it a Title and an optional Description (Edit section).
- Drag the handle to reorder sections.
- Section menu (three dots): Edit section, Duplicate section, Export as a playlist, and Delete section (confirm with Yes, delete). Delete section is only offered when the section holds at least two modules.
An empty section shows "Section is empty" and "Add at least one module with the button below." Learners see it in their timeline too, so fill it or leave it out when possible.
Add modules
- In a section, click Add module.
- In Add new module ("Choose how you'd like to add a module to your training."), choose:
- Add an Existing Module: "Choose from all modules available in the catalog of your company." Click Continue, then in Add module to training tick one or several modules (search, Filter by Themes) and click Continue. A message confirms "Modules added to section successfully."
- Create a New Module (Manager creator and above): "Start from scratch and build a brand-new module for this training." The module editor opens; when you publish the module, it is added to this section and you come back to the training.
- Drag modules to reorder them or move them between sections.
Each module row shows its last update date, evaluation type (Self-assessment, Quiz, Face-to-face evaluation or None) and duration, a menu with View module and Edit module, and a bin icon (Delete item) that removes the module from the section. The bin is disabled when the module is the only one in its section. On a phone, Remove from section is in the menu instead.
Important: A module without evaluation can't be acquired, so learners couldn't complete the training. Make sure every module has an evaluation.
Import playlists
Click the Import playlist icon, then in Import playlists to the training tick playlists: "Select playlists to add to your training. Each playlist's modules will be grouped into a new section." Click Continue. Each playlist becomes a new section named after it ("1 playlist(s) imported as sections"). Modules that are already in the training aren't added a second time, so the new section can end up with fewer modules, or empty.
Export a section as a playlist
Section menu Export as a playlist: "Export this section and its modules as a playlist to the catalog." Adjust the title if needed and click Export.
Co-pilots
Co-pilots help you run the training: they can edit its content, launch and manage sessions, follow learners and handle certificates.
- In the top bar menu (three dots), choose Manage co-pilots.
- Search (Search, filters) and tick colleagues of any role, then click Continue. A message confirms "Co-pilot(s) updated successfully."
- Each new co-pilot receives the email "You are a co-pilot for the training ...": "You've been added as a co-pilot for the training ... Your role is to support the training by helping manage its content, structure and sessions."
Publish
- Click Publish. The training needs a title and at least one module ("A training needs to contain at least 1 module to be launched, please add a module from any section.").
- The message "Training published successfully." appears, then the dialog Launch your first training session ("Your training is published now, do you want to launch your first training session ?").
- Click Launch to open the session wizard (see Launch and manage training sessions), or Not now.
Edit a published training
Open it with Edit training (training row menu in Learn › Trainings, pencil on the management page). Changes are kept in a draft until you click Update; learners keep the published version meanwhile. After an update, learners who had completed the training and now have new modules are back In progress until they acquire them.
Duplicate or delete
- Duplicate training: "Chose your title for this duplicate training. All of content will be duplicated." Enter the Duplicated training title (and a Description), then Duplicate. Sessions and learners are not copied.
- Delete training (creator, Admins and Super admins; row menu in Learn › Trainings or My content): the training moves to the deleted items for 30 days ("Deleted trainings are stored for 30 days. After this period, they will be permanently deleted."). Restore it from Learn › Trainings › View deleted items, or from its page with Restore.
Common questions
Why can't learners see my training?
A training is only visible to people enrolled in one of its sessions. Launch a session and add participants.
Can I use the same module in several trainings?
Yes. A learner who acquired it once has it acquired in every training.
I can't find "Create a New Module" in Add module.
It is only offered to Manager creators and above. Co-pilots with the Employee or Manager role can only add existing modules.
