Notifications and emails
Every email, in-app and push notification sent by the Skills module - invitations, reminders, deadline reminders, contributors, co-pilots and cycle launch.
The Skills module informs reviewers, owners, contributors and cycle creators by email and, for reviewers and contributors, by in-app notification (and push notification on the mobile app). Emails are sent in the recipient's language (set in their profile, see Profile and preferences) and their links open the right page directly. What is not sent automatically
- Launching with No in Send invitation emails? sends nothing to reviewers and owners.
- Adding reviewees after launch (Add reviewees) doesn't send invitations: select them in the Reviewees tab and use Send notifications › Send invitation email.
- Adding reviewers through Manage reviewers or changing the owner with Change owner doesn't send an email.
- Owners aren't emailed each time a review is submitted: they follow progress in Your reviews and on the cycle page.
Send invitations and reminders
- One reviewee: in the cycle's Reviewees tab, ⋮ › Send invitation email or Send reminder email; or, as an owner, from the card's ⋮ menu in Skills › Reviews › Your reviews.
- Several reviewees: tick them in the Reviewees tab, then Send notifications › Send invitation email or Send reminder email, and confirm with Send.
- One review: in Analysis details, Send reminder on a review that isn't submitted.
Invitations and reminders go to the reviewers of the selected reviewees (the reviewee only receives one if they are their own reviewer, in a self-assessment). Reminders skip reviews already submitted.
Common questions
A reviewer says they never received the invitation.
Check that invitations were sent at launch, that the cycle has started (emails for future cycles go out on the start date), and ask them to check their spam. Then resend with Send invitation email.
Can I turn off the deadline reminder?
No. It is sent automatically the day before the end date to every reviewer whose review isn't submitted.
Do notifications open the review on mobile?
Yes. Tapping a skills review push notification opens the review in the OpenAleph mobile app.
