AI features in Learn

Aleph AI is built into Learn. Creators use it in the module editor to write, evaluate, narrate and translate modules; learners use it as a tutor inside trainings. AI output can contain mistakes: always review generated content before publishing ("Aleph AI can make mistakes."). The general Ask AlephAI assistant available everywhere in OpenAleph is described in AI assistant.

AI Tools in the module editor

Open a module in the editor and click AI Tools in the left panel. Four tools are available:

Aleph AI assistant (Create Content)

Create Content opens the Aleph AI panel ("Boost your content with Aleph AI!") with a first request prepared from your module title and description.

1. Type your request in Ask Aleph AI about..., for example "Write an introduction on GDPR basics with three examples", "Make the tone more casual", "Shorten the second part".
2. Aleph AI answers in the panel. Under a written answer:
   • Insert adds the text to your module content,
   • Copy copies it to paste it where you want.
3. The assistant can also act on the module directly when you ask: change the title, the description (max 400 characters) or the duration, add themes, switch or generate the evaluation, generate the audio narration, translate the module or switch the language you are editing.
4. After an action, Undo reverts the last change made by the assistant.

Generate the evaluation

Two ways:

• AI Tools › Create evaluation: if the module has no evaluation yet, choose the type (Self-assessment, Quiz or Face-to-face evaluation) and the AI generates it. If an evaluation type is already set, it is generated directly ("Generating the evaluation… please wait.").
• In the Evaluation segment, click Generate with AI.

The AI writes the learning objectives (self-assessment), multiple-choice questions with correct options ticked (quiz) or open questions (face-to-face) from the module content. A message confirms "Evaluation generated successfully." Edit anything before publishing.

Generate an audio narration

1. Click AI Tools › Generate Audio Narration. The panel Generate Audio Narration opens for the language you are editing (for example "(English)").
2. Set the options:
   • Who should speak? ("Select a voice that best fits your module's tone."): Voice Female or Male.
   • How long should the audio be?: Short, Default or Long ("Longer clips may take a few seconds more to generate.").
   • What should be the focus in this audio? ("Be specific to help AI match the right tone and message."): optional instructions, e.g. "Introduce the lesson in an enthusiastic tone".
3. Click Generate. Generation takes a little while ("Generating Audio", "Come back in a few minutes"); you can keep working.
4. Listen to the result. Use Edit prompt and Re-generate to try again, then Insert to attach the narration to the module.

Learners then see a play button on the module (and Learn with audio in the mobile app). Each language can have its own narration. To remove it, use Delete audio in the player menu of the editor.

Translate a module

Supported languages: English, German (listed as Deutsch), French, Italian, Spanish and Swedish.

1. Click AI Tools › Add Another Language (or the Languages block in Configure).
2. "Which language would you like to translate this module into?": Select language.
3. "The main content will be translated. What else would you like to include?": tick Translate title and description, Translate evaluation and/or Translate audio narration (optional).
4. Click Translate. "A new language(s) will be added. Your main language module will remain unchanged." The translation takes from a few seconds to a minute; the editor then switches to the new language so you can review it.

Use the Language selector above the content (for example English (Primary), French) to review and edit each translation. While a non-primary language is selected, Create evaluation is greyed out. Publish the translations with Update (or Publish).

Manage languages

In Configure, click the button next to Languages. The window Languages lists the Languages in this module: the primary language is marked Primary, a status icon shows whether each translation is complete, and a bin icon deletes a language. Click Save to apply.

• Incomplete Translation: when some parts (content, title and description, evaluation, audio narration) haven't been translated yet, click Translate to complete them ("We recommend completing these translations before switching.").
• You can't delete the primary language, nor the language you are currently viewing.

Learners choose their language with the translate button at the top of the module.

AI tutor for learners

Inside a training, learners can study with an AI tutor that knows the training content.

1. On a quiz result page inside a training, find Continue your training with AI (Beta) and click Continue.
2. The Aleph AI chat opens with a welcome message that lists the modules you have already completed, the next module, and suggested questions you can click. Type your own question in Ask me anything about this training... ("Shift + Enter to add a line").
3. When you're ready, the tutor proposes buttons to Take quiz now ("Start the quiz for this module"), Start Evaluation for a face-to-face module, or Return to Module.
4. The icon at the top right restarts the conversation ("You're about to restart the training and clear your chat history ?"). The back arrow leaves the chat; the conversation isn't saved.

Common questions

The AI tools are greyed out.

Create evaluation is only available when the primary language is selected. Other tools may be temporarily disabled while a generation or translation is running.

Does the AI publish anything by itself?

No. Everything it creates goes into your draft. Learners only see it after you click Publish or Update.

Can I translate into a language that isn't listed?

No, only the listed languages are supported.
