Answer your interview
How employees find, fill in and submit their interview in OpenAleph (My Interviews), what they can see, and how to read the final cross review.
When you are a participant (interviewee) in an interview campaign, you prepare your interview online: you answer your part of the questionnaire, then submit it so your interviewer can read it before or during your meeting. This page explains the employee's side. Every access level, including managers and admins, uses it for their own interviews.
Find your interviews
Go to Interview › My Interviews ("Here is the list of all your interviews."). You can also click the link in the invitation email or the notification.
The page has three tabs:
| Tab | Content |
|---|---|
| To do | Interviews where your own part is not submitted yet. |
| Done | Interviews where you have submitted your part. The interviewer's part or the cross review may still be in progress: the card shows the status of each part. |
| All | All your interviews. |
Use the search bar to find a campaign by name, and the filters (Deadline, Campaign type) to narrow the list.
Each card shows the campaign title, the campaign type and the kind of interview (for example "One to one : Cross Review" or "One to one : Interviewee only"), the deadline ("Deadline: date") and one block per part of the interview, each with its status (Not started, In progress, Submitted, Not available yet):
- Interviewee: your part, with its status.
- Interviewer (or Person in charge): the person conducting the interview, and the status of their part.
- Cross Review: the final joint version, if the template has one. It shows Not available yet until both you and your interviewer have submitted.
The buttons on the card change with the progress:
| Button | When |
|---|---|
| Start interview | Your part is not started. |
| Continue interview | Your part is in progress. |
| View my answers | You submitted your part. |
| View cross review | The cross review is submitted. |
Fill in your interview
- Click Start interview or Continue interview.
- The interview page shows the deadline ("Deadline: date", or No deadline), the Interviewee and Interviewer, and the campaign title, followed by the introduction text and video of the template, if any.
- Answer the questions. They are grouped by chapter. Depending on the question:
- Open question: type your answer in the text field.
- Rating: click the icon matching your score.
- Multi-choice: select one option.
- If a Comment field is shown under the question, you can add a comment to explain your answer.
- Your answers are saved automatically as you type: the tag at the top shows Saving... then Saved. You can leave (back arrow at the top left) and come back later; click Continue interview to resume.
- Questions marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
Opening your interview for the first time changes its status from Not started to In progress.
Tools in the top bar
| Icon | Use |
|---|---|
| Translate icon (Translate interview) | Shown when the template is available in other languages. Pick a language and click Apply to display the questions in that language. |
| History icon (Last events) | Shows each status change of the interview (for example Not started › In progress, In progress › Submitted), who made it and when, including unlocks by an admin. |
| List icon (Summary) | Opens the list of chapters and questions; click one to jump to it. |
| Download icon (Download pdf) | Downloads a PDF of the interview (PDF only Q&A). See Exports and PDF. |
Submit your interview
- When you have answered every required question, click Submit (top right on a computer, at the bottom of the screen on a phone).
- If a required question is empty, the page scrolls to it and shows "Please answer all required questions (*)". Answer it and click Submit again.
- The dialog Answers of this interview will be locked explains: "Submitting this interview will lock your answers. Ask an admin to unlock them if needed." Click Submit (or Cancel to go back).
- The message "Your interview has been submitted, your answers are locked." confirms it and you are taken back to My Interviews, where the interview is now in the Done tab. If your interviewer has not submitted their part yet, they receive an email and a notification that you submitted.
After submission your answers are read-only. The card shows View my answers.
Important: Submitting is final for you. If you made a mistake, ask an HR admin to unlock your interview; your answers are kept and you can edit them again.
What you can and cannot see
- You see only the questions set as visible for the interviewee in the template.
- You cannot open your interviewer's own part (IR). The interviewer can read your answers once you have submitted.
- If the template includes a cross review, you can read it once your interviewer has submitted it: click View cross review. It is the final version of the interview, agreed during your meeting. For each question, it shows your answer, your interviewer's answer and the final cross review answer.
- If the template is Interviewer (IR) only, there is nothing for you to fill in; your manager completes the interview.
The cross review meeting
For Cross Review templates, once both you and your interviewer have submitted, your interviewer can schedule the cross review meeting. You then receive an email invitation ("📆 You're invited to the Cross Review on date in the campaign name") with the date, the time and an Add to Google Agenda link. When the cross review is submitted, you receive "campaign : Interview completed with your name". See Cross review, submission and locking.
On mobile
In the OpenAleph mobile app (see Mobile app), open the Apps tab › Interviews › My interviews. You can search your interviews, filter them, open one, fill it in and submit it (the app warns you if a required question is missing). Once submitted, you can read your answers, view the history and download the PDF. Push notifications open the related interview directly.
Common questions
I don't see my interview.
Check the All tab and your search filters. If the campaign is scheduled for a future date, the interview appears only on the start date. If the campaign was deleted, ask HR.
I submitted by mistake. Can I change my answers?
Only an Admin can unlock a submitted interview. Contact your HR team.
The interview disappeared from my To do tab.
You submitted your part, so it moved to Done. Open Done or All to find it; the cross review, if any, appears there once your interviewer submits it.
I see "This interview belongs to a deleted campaign. No actions are allowed."
The campaign was deleted by HR. Click Go to My Interviews and contact HR if you think it's a mistake.
Can I see what my manager wrote?
Not their private part. You see the final cross review once it is submitted, if your campaign uses one.
Is there a deadline after which I can't answer?
The deadline is a target date shown on your interview and in reminders. The interview is not locked automatically when it passes, but please submit on time.
