Team goals
As a manager, follow the goals of your direct or extended team in Goals › Team Goals, filter them, open, edit and create goals for team members.
Team Goals gives managers a view of the goals of the people who report to them, grouped by person. From here you can open any goal, update your direct reports' goals, and (if you are a manager creator or above) create new goals for your team.
Before you start
- Team Goals is visible to managers and above. Employees don't see it.
- Only people who report to you appear: your direct reports by default, or your whole reporting line (reports of your reports) with the extended scope.
- Creating goals requires the Manager creator access level or above.
Open Team Goals
- In the sidebar, go to Goals › Team Goals. The page reads "View and manage all your team's goals."
- The list shows one card per team member, sorted by last name: their photo, name, job title and a tag with their number of goals.
- Cards with goals are expanded; click a card header to collapse or expand it.
- Each goal line shows the indicator icon and title, the Responsible, the Deadline and the completion tag, plus a three-dot menu.
Filter and search
- Year selector: only goals with a deadline in the selected year are shown. Each year shows its goal count.
- Search: finds goals by title and team members by name.
- Filters:
- Team scope: My Team (your direct reports, the default) or My Extended Team (everyone in your reporting line). The list also offers My Manager and Peers, but Team Goals only ever shows people who report to you: with that option you see your direct reports.
- Status: one or several goal statuses.
Work on a team member's goal
- Click a goal line to open the goal page (the back button reads Back to team goals). You can also open a team member's goals from their profile, in the Goals section (see Your profile and member profiles). See Update progress and follow a goal.
- From the three-dot menu of a goal line:
- Edit goal: change the title, description and due date.
- Set related items: link the goal to the review cycles this person took part in.
- Delete goal: move the goal to the trash (kept 30 days). The team member is notified by email.
Create goals for your team
- Click New Goal at the top of the page, or Create goal on a team member who has no goal yet ("No goals yet").
- Follow the wizard described in Create a goal. From Team Goals:
- you can pick several assignees at once; one separate goal is created for each person;
- the Responsible is locked to you.
- Click Create. Each assignee is notified.
Deleted team goals
Open the menu next to the page title and choose View deleted goals to see the deleted goals of your team. You can Restore them, or open them. Permanent deletion is reserved for scoped admins and admins.
Team goals on the home page and mobile
- The home page shows a Team goals section with your team's goals and a Go to team goals link.
- In the mobile app, Goals › Team Goals lists your team's goals by person, with filters for year, team scope (direct or extended team) and status.
Common questions
I'm a manager but I can't create goals for my team.
Creating goals requires the Manager creator access level (or an admin level). As a manager, you can follow and update your direct reports' goals, and your admin or a manager creator can create them.
One of my reports is missing from the list.
Check the Team scope filter and that the person's manager is set to you in their profile (see Edit, deactivate and restore members). People reporting to your reports only appear with My Extended Team.
The member card says No goals yet, but they have goals.
The list only shows goals due in the selected year. Switch year with the year selector.
Can I see goals my team members created in the OKR module?
No. OKR objectives and key results live in the OKR module and are not listed in Team Goals.
