Read Team Survey answers question by question, with charts, attribute filters, pinned answers and comments, generate an AI synthesis and export to Excel.

Results are read one question at a time. Only submitted sheets count: answers from sheets still in progress aren't shown or charted. Results are available as soon as the first participant submits and update as more answers come in.

Before you start

You can read the results of a campaign if you created it, are one of its persons in charge (pilots) or co-pilots, or are an admin (a scoped admin, for campaigns of people in their scope).

Where to find the results

  • Persons in charge (any role from Manager): go to Team Survey › My surveys, open the As person in charge tab and click a campaign. The results page opens.
  • Manager creators and admins: go to Team Survey › Campaigns, open a campaign and click the Answers tab. It shows the same content, with the rest of the campaign tools around it.

The As person in charge tab

This tab lists the campaigns you run, with a switch:

Filter Shows
Current Started campaigns where not everyone has submitted yet.
Completed Campaigns where every participant has submitted.
Upcoming Campaigns that haven't started yet.

Each card shows the Deadline and how many participants have submitted (for example "12/30 submitted"). Use the search bar to find a campaign by title.

Read the answers to a question

  1. In the Answers section, pick a question in the Question list. Chapters and paragraphs aren't listed.
  2. The question title appears with the number of answers.
  3. For Rating and Multi-choice questions, a bar chart shows how many people chose each value or option. Open questions have no chart.
  4. Below, each answer is listed with the respondent's name and picture, the answer and, if they left one, their comment. On an anonymized campaign, respondents are shown as Respondent 1, Respondent 2 and so on, with an anonymous avatar.

Filter by employee attribute

Two lists next to the question let you narrow the results to a group of employees:

  1. Category: an employee attribute set up in your company (for example job title, department or site).
  2. Type: the value to keep, or All.

The answer list and the chart are recalculated from the matching respondents only.

Important: On an anonymized campaign, a filter must cover at least 5 people. Otherwise the answers are withheld and you see Too few answers to show: "This campaign promised anonymity, so a filter has to cover at least 5 people before their answers can be shown." Choose a broader filter. See Anonymity in Team Survey.

Pin answers

Click the pin icon on an answer to pin it, for example to keep the most telling comments. Pinned answers are shared by everyone reading the campaign. Tick Show only pinned answers to list only them; the count then shows "(pinned)". Click the pin again to unpin.

Comment on an answer

  1. Click the speech-bubble icon on an answer. The Comments panel opens.
  2. Type in Add a comment and click Comment.
  3. The participant who wrote the answer receives an email, a push and an in-app notification saying you commented, with your comment.
  4. You can delete your own comments with the bin icon. Admins can also delete other people's comments.

Note: Commenting requires the Manager creator role or above (on a campaign you run) or the Admin role. On a deleted campaign, pins and comments are disabled.

AI synthesis

For how Aleph AI works across OpenAleph, see Aleph AI assistant.

AlephAI can summarise all the submitted answers of a campaign.

  1. Open the campaign from Team Survey › Campaigns (the campaign page, not the results page).
  2. Click Ask AlephAI in the top navigation bar. The AI-powered synthesis panel opens (marked Beta).
  3. Click Generate synthesis. The synthesis appears in the panel after a few moments.
  4. Use the icons at the top of the panel:
    • Copy: copies the synthesis to the clipboard.
    • Download PDF: the PDF is generated in the background ("Your pdf is being generated.") and you're notified when it's ready.
    • Regenerate synthesis: available once new answers have been submitted since the last synthesis, or after an error.

Rules:

  • Generating needs at least one submitted sheet and the right to manage the campaign (Manager creator or above, running the campaign, or admin). Other readers of the campaign can read an existing synthesis.
  • The synthesis is saved: everyone who opens the campaign sees the latest one.
  • Answers are sent to the AI without any name, whether or not the campaign is anonymized.
  • The Ask AlephAI button is disabled on pages that don't support AI.

Export to Excel

Other exports available in OpenAleph are listed in Exports and reports.

  1. Click the export icon (Export to .xlsx) in the campaign's top bar, or tick campaigns in Team Survey › Campaigns and click the same icon.
  2. In Export data, choose the Export type:
    • Progress (Monitor campaign completion): a Campaigns sheet (ID, title, dates, owners, anonymous yes/no, number of participants, submitted, completion rate) and a Respondents sheet with each sheet's status and submission date.
    • Answers (Focus on responses and insights): the same, plus one column per question with each respondent's answers.
  3. The File format is XLSX. Data shows whether you export all campaigns or the selected ones.
  4. Click Export. The file is generated in the background and downloaded automatically after a few seconds. You can close the message in the meantime.
  5. To get the file again later, use More › Download the last export on the campaign page.

From the Campaigns list, if nothing is ticked, the export covers every campaign currently listed (with your search and filters).

For non-anonymized campaigns, the Respondents sheet includes names, emails and organisation fields. For anonymized campaigns, those columns are left out and each response has only a number. Declined sheets aren't exported.

Common questions

Why don't I see answers from someone who has started?

Only submitted sheets count. Answers from sheets that are In progress appear once the participant submits.

The chart and the number of answers changed when I picked a filter.

That's expected: both are recalculated from the respondents matching the Category and Type you selected. Choose All to go back to everyone.

I see "Too few answers to show".

The campaign is anonymized and your filter matches fewer than 5 respondents. Pick a broader value or All.

The Ask AlephAI button is greyed out.

It only works on a campaign page (Team Survey › Campaigns › a campaign), not on the results page opened from My surveys. If Generate synthesis refuses, nobody has submitted yet, or you don't have the right to manage the campaign.

Can participants see the results?

No. Participants only see their own sheet. Results are for the campaign's creator, persons in charge, co-pilots and admins.
