Export workforce planning
How to export one workforce plan (members and recruitment) or all plans to Excel from Strategic Workforce Planning, and what the files contain.
You can export SWP data to Excel (.xlsx) files: one plan with its members, or every plan of the company.
Export one plan
Permissions: Admins, and managers for the plans they can see.
- Open the plan's details page (See more on its card).
- Click the ⋮ menu next to Edit structure, then Export members.
- The message "The export generation is in progress. You can close this message." appears.
- When the file is ready, it downloads automatically in your browser. Keep OpenAleph open until then.
The file contains two sheets:

| Recruitment | For each secondary unit: Unit, Target, Filled, To hire, Filled rate (%), plus a Total row. A negative To hire means the unit is over target, and the filled rate can exceed 100%. Members with no secondary unit value are not counted in this sheet. |
| Members | Every member of the plan: Full name, Hire date, Job title, Contract type, and a column named after the secondary unit with each member's value (empty if they have none). |
Export all plans
Permissions: Admins and Super admins only.
- On the SWP dashboard, click the ⋮ menu next to Configuration.
- Click Export workforce planning.
- The message "Your export is being prepared. You'll be notified when it's ready." appears, and the file downloads automatically when ready.
The Plans sheet lists each plan with: Unit, Status (active or upcoming), Launch date (only for upcoming plans), Target head count, Members, To hire (negative when over target), Filled rate (%). Only plans that have both a target and at least one member are included.
If no configuration exists, the message "No workforce planning configuration to export." appears.
Common questions
The file didn't download.
The download starts when the file is ready, in the tab where you asked for it. If you closed or reloaded the page, start the export again. If an error message appears, try again or contact support.
